Speaker: Dr. Jessica Lautz is Vice President of Demographics and Behavioral Insights at the National Association of REALTORS®. The core of her research focuses on analyzing trends for both NAR members and housing consumers. Through management of surveys, focus groups and data analysis, she presents new and innovative ways to showcase results. Jessica discusses research findings in major media outlets and international presentations. In 2021, Dr. Lautz was named one of Housing Wire’s Women of Influence, a list representing 100 of the most influential women in leadership in the housing industry. She also volunteers at Nottingham Trent University as an industry fellow mentoring real estate graduate students.

Creating profit in real estate requires focus and diligence, as well as an understanding of the areas of your business you must be paying attention to as a business owner.   This one-day course will help the real estate business owner understand basic accounting principles, the importance of recruiting to profitability, and an understanding of when you should hire someone to assist you in running the financial part of your business so you can stay focused on your team members.  You will also learn the importance of monthly reporting and the analysis and interpretation of your financial position against profitability.

Matthew Rathbun, Instructor
Matthew Rathbun still works with clients and actually practice the skills and information that he delivers in each class. He is a licensed broker in Virginia, DC and Maryland and a licensed instructor in many states in the US. Currently Matthew is the Executive Vice President of a large multi-office firm in Virginia and oversees operations, risk management, and agent development among other things.
